Bluetooth isn't something I know much about but I'm trying to use wii remotes to control a software synthesiser and drum machine. Anyone done anything similar? If this works I'm going on the xfactor next year
Maybe I'll compose a love song for Sharon Osbourne

@gdkar ah well I have the advantage of not knowing enough to realise it's a stupid idea haha
@boyce oh! no, it's not inherently....? it's just that, like, doing-precise-things-without-a-good-intuitive-reference is a.... hard problem!
so, like, not at all saying it *can't* be done... i've just never managed to make it work? so i'd be super curious to see what you end up with if you manage to, is all. :)
@gdkar I'll definitely share whatever I end up with here, however terrible
@boyce I mapped the wiimote data to parameters for granular synthesis once. It was a proof of concept for a neural net (of course!) based mapping thing. I would not say my results were spectacular, but the idea was for people to use it to map other devices. Which did happen a bit.

Okay so I mapped various movements and buttons of the remote and nunchuck to keyboard buttons and set up a drum machine with those buttons etc
But because there's no sense of positioning of the remotes without infrared sensors it's virtually impossible to play anything that isn't just a total mess (or just relying on the buttons)
